Save Water PSA Poster

My topic was about the importance of conserving water and how it can save you money and help with the environment. When water is wasted it has to be recycled and cleaned for the use of the society. This process requires the use of energy and or burning of fossil fuels to get the water purified again. Turning of the sink when not in use or frequently taking bath can be beneficial by having a lower water and electricity bill.

I learned that the saving of water is extremely important and can benefit the environment and the individuals themselves that actually take action to control the use of water in their homes. The average household family uses up to 260 gallons of water daily. Much of this consumption is used in the bathroom but the kitchen and the washer also contribute. As you can see there is a lot of water being used daily in every home so the more we can conserve the less there is to recycle that takes demands energy and the burning of fossil fuels which are harm for for our atmosphere.

The interensting facts I used from the website Conserving Water are the following.
BATHROOM
1) Damaged or leaking systems can cause health risks such as hepatitis or dysentery.
2) Taking shorter showers instead of baths.
3) Don't run the water full force when showering.
KITCHEN
1) Replace leaking faucets.
2) Hand wash dishes in a basin instead of under running water.
3) Only wash full loads of dishes in the dishwasher.
LAUNDRY ROOM
1) Wash only full loads.
2) Adjust setting if washing smaller loads in comparison to bigger loads.

My finished PSA informs and educates the views by my use of images that specifically tend to incline the importance of saving water. The main picture of the globe resembles the loss of water my of us individuals that waste water but that there are alternatives to conserve it. The fossett symbolizes the control of the water that is used when brushing your teeth or washing your hands and that it should be turned off when it is not being used and to only use small amounts of water. The hour glass represents that the water is precious and that is should be looked at with great precaution. All in all my poster notifies the viewers that it only takes a couple easy steps and tips to start conserving water.
