Save Water PSA Poster

My topic was about the importance of conserving water and how it can save you money and help with the environment. When water is wasted it has to be recycled and cleaned for the use of the society. This process requires the use of energy and or burning of fossil fuels to get the water purified again. Turning of the sink when not in use or frequently taking bath can be beneficial by having a lower water and electricity bill.

I learned that the saving of water is extremely important and can benefit the environment and the individuals themselves that actually take action to control the use of water in their homes. The average household family uses up to 260 gallons of water daily. Much of this consumption is used in the bathroom but the kitchen and the washer also contribute. As you can see there is a lot of water being used daily in every home so the more we can conserve the less there is to recycle that takes demands energy and the burning of fossil fuels which are harm for for our atmosphere.

The interensting facts I used from the website Conserving Water are the following.
BATHROOM
1) Damaged or leaking systems can cause health risks such as hepatitis or dysentery.
2) Taking shorter showers instead of baths.
3) Don't run the water full force when showering.
KITCHEN
1) Replace leaking faucets.
2) Hand wash dishes in a basin instead of under running water.
3) Only wash full loads of dishes in the dishwasher.
LAUNDRY ROOM
1) Wash only full loads.
2) Adjust setting if washing smaller loads in comparison to bigger loads.

My finished PSA informs and educates the views by my use of images that specifically tend to incline the importance of saving water. The main picture of the globe resembles the loss of water my of us individuals that waste water but that there are alternatives to conserve it. The fossett symbolizes the control of the water that is used when brushing your teeth or washing your hands and that it should be turned off when it is not being used and to only use small amounts of water. The hour glass represents that the water is precious and that is should be looked at with great precaution. All in all my poster notifies the viewers that it only takes a couple easy steps and tips to start conserving water.

First senerio deals with a professor has posted his class notes on a web page available to the public. He wants to scan an article from a copyrighted journal and add it to his web page. The professor cant take credibility of the article and there for violating copyright regulations. Another example would be a professor decides to make three copies of a textbook and place them on reserve in the library for the class. This would also violate the copyright holder's right making it illegal for the professor to do such thing.

Fair use means that a person who copyrights something is not doing anything illegal. It is okay and does not need the approval to copy the owners original work.

Shepard Fairey pleaded guilty to criminal contempt of court in February. He also was ordered to pay $25,000 in fines in a dispute that dates to 2009. In his civil complaint, Fairey claimed to have used a photo of Obama and George Clooney. Shepard was punished by using photos of president Baraka Obama. According to court documents, Fairey and AP settled the civil suit in January 2011 for $1.6 million.

Color Psychology

In the Color Psychology the article states that depending where you are and what colors are around you may influence you mentally and emotionally. Colors can have an effect on how your mood is and the way you act. In art therapy color is associated with a persons emotions. Colors may be categorized in two main areas, either representing warm or cool. Colors like yellow, red, and orange spark emotions ranging from comfort and warmth to hostility and anger. Colors like blue, green, and purple give of emotions that pertain to feelings of clamness or sadness.

The Language of Advertising Liu, David and Lisa Westmoreland (2002). The correlation between color and mood and attitude is clearly present in ads today, in which darker advertisements try to convey a problematic, sad or negative situation and brighter advertisements show the happiness and cheer that can be achieved once the problem has been solved. Advertising on alcohol conveys a sense of weight and even taste to the readers. An energy bar advertisment data shows that the color blue can also be associated with health, cleanliness and serenity, which appeals to lifestyle choices that energy bar users might make. Darker shades are more common, perhaps to emphasize the richness of flavor and nutrients energy bars provide.

Dream Destination Get-Away

The Bahamas is a dream destination for me because the beaches are crystal clear and the warm weather makes the water feel refreshing. You can enjoy your time either by relaxing getting a tan or jumpimg in the cool refreshing water. There are also many resturants you can visit and enjoy a delicious meal. Another reason why you should consider taking a vacation to the bahamas is because of the beautiful views and sights to see!
